In All Seasons

Seasons are a part of life. Some are exciting and adventurous. Others are steady and easygoing. Then there are those that are stormy and can knock you down if you are no on guard. In all of these seasons, God is there, He has not changed, and His Word is truth.

Deuteronomy 31:8

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Psalm 102:27

“But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

James 1:17

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change, like shifting shadows.”

The truth of these verses is so simple. But how many times do you forget them? I know that more times than I want to admit,  I get into a steady or stormy season and I forget. Even in this season, God has had to remind me constantly that He is still there, still the same, and still working.

A few years ago, in the midst of a particularly stormy season, God led me to write a poem. As I was flipping through my book of ministry notes this week, I came across it. I share it with you today as an encouragement to believe all that you know about God and His Word.

I Believe
By Krista Michelle

Through all the tears,
I still believe faith conquers fears.
Through all the pain,
I still believe there is wisdom to gain.
Through all the doubt,
I still believe God’s truth will win out.

The night will turn to day.
The storm will be stilled.
And the enemy will have no words to say,
When God’s plan is fulfilled.

Through all the waiting,
I will believe in all that God is orchestrating.
Through all the sleepless nights,
I believe we walk by faith and not by sight.
And through all the loneliness,
I will believe in God’s holiness.

He alone will write the story,
And bring His name glory.
This is what I believe.

Ladies, I won’t give up in any season. Don’t you give up either. God is with us. He has not changed. His Word is true.

The winds may come and the waves may crash but I still believe!
