In Her Shoes

I am so excited to share with you that my first bible study, In Her Shoes: Walking in Virtue, will be released in less than a week!  It is a three-week study on the life of Ruth that will encourage and challenge you to make decisions, develop character and live your life as a virtuous woman.  Over the past year I have prayed this study would help every girl who goes through it to grow in her relationship with God.  I am so excited to share it with you that, I can’t help but share just a small portion of it with you today.

In Her Shoes: Walking in Virtue

Ruth 3:11
And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you request, for all the people of my town know that you are a virtuous woman.

Boaz refers to Ruth as a “virtuous woman.” After looking at several definitions, I would define the word virtuous as “living by moral and ethical principles and being morally excellent and upright.” You may be thinking, Krista, what does all that mean?

Virtuous: Living According to God’s Word to Glorify Him

This kind of virtue is exactly what we have seen from Ruth already in our study. In Chapter 1 she declared God to be her God. Since then her choices set her apart in such a way that people noticed and were talking about her. She had a reputation for being virtuous, for being different.

We see four qualities in Ruth’s life from the beginning to the end of the book. These same qualities should be in our lives as we build our character on the foundation of loving kindness.

Ruth demonstrated the selflessness, responsibility, obedience and generosity in her life that are the foundation of her character.  But there is so much more that to be learned when you study the life of Ruth.  So, take a walk in Ruth’s shoes with me and discover what it means to walk in virtue.
