Fall is my favorite time of year. I have always loved the cooler weather and the changing of colors. And there are so many fun activities to do with your girls. I thought I would share a few fall ideas for girls gathering with you.
Pumpkin Patch Party
Take your girls to a pumpkin patch or create your own where they can pick out a pumpkin to decorate. Once all the girls have one, give them arts and crafts supplies to decorate their pumpkins. At the end give prizes away.
Tips:
*If you go a patch be sure to account for travel time so you arrive at your decorating location with enough time for the girls to take their time and fellowship. Try seeing if the pumpkin patch has a location on their campus for you to rent for decorating.
*If you create your own patch to save time don’t forget to have extra pumpkins for the girls that can come last minute.
*Have a variety of supplies to decorate with – paint, ribbon, buttons, sequences, pom poms, string, fall leaves, fabric, stencils, etc.
*Have multiple categories for winning – best overall, most creative, funniest, most innovative, etc.
One more idea…
If you want to go to a pumpkin patch but don’t have the time for decorating then create a selfie scavenger hunt for the girls to do in teams.
Hayride Drive-In
Create a fun evening with hayrides and a movie. Find a church member who has a large property where you can take the girls. Get volunteers with trucks and trailers to drive your girls from your arrival location on the property to the movie location. Then park the trailers and let the girls watch the move from the trailers or blankets on the grass.
Tips:
*Don’t try and get enough trucks and trailers to make one run. Make multiple runs if needed.
*Have hayrides offered during the movie if girls just want to fellowship. But limit the time of the ride so all girls who want to go can.
*Have a concession stand with snacks and hot drinks
*Have an extra stash of blankets for the cold weather
One more idea…
You can add a bonfire to the night with s’mores.
Bushel of Fun
Gather your girls for a caramel apple party. You can do whole apples or slices. I would suggest a combination. Let the girls have slices to put the topping on and eat while they dip and decorate whole apples.
Tips:
*Set up stations for each step of decorating – Caramel, chocolate, and toppings.
*Have games to play in between layers drying – make them apple-theme
One more idea…
You can turn this into a service opportunity. Have the girls make multiple apples to give away with a note attached to it. You can choose to make them for senior adults in your church, teachers in a local school, or any group you choose.
Girlsgiving
Celebrate November with a Girlsgiving. This is a fun night of feasting and fellowship. Your ministry provides the meat and your girls to sign up to bring a drink, side dish, salad, or dessert.
Tips:
*Depending on the number of girls, have grades sign up for specific items to bring.
*Do fun fall decorations on the table
*Have a fun table game for the girls to play
One more idea…
This is a great event to invite the moms to. It will allow you to get to know moms better and maybe meet some moms you haven’t yet. But it will also give moms time with their daughters and get to know other moms in the ministry.
enjoy making memories with your girls this fall!
